About
Nippon Motion began in 2010 as a monthly Japanese music Happy Hour hosted by Rob Perry at several venues throughout Baltimore, MD. In addition to DJ sets
accompanied by visuals, several events featured special themes such as film & live concert screenings, a retrospective exhibition of Thee Michelle Gun Elephant
(THEE TRIBUTE), and music performances.
This original idea was re-imagined in 2015 when Rob collaborated with Michael Young (OTS Productions) to create 「DELI FANTASY」, a recurring event featuring guest DJs, Japanese music videos, commercials and custom/thematic video content.
In 2017 Nippon Motion expanded to encompass multiple existing and new projects that promote Japanese culture, including B•A•D (Baltimore Anime Denizens), Japanese green tea education, and Baltimore-Japan Art Festival.
